Launching · Dublin · v1.0

Frequently asked, plainly answered.

01
Is FairTaxi available in my city?
FairTaxi works right across Ireland, so you can download it anywhere and book a ride. Our main focus for now is Dublin, so that's where you'll find the most drivers, and we're expanding across the country city by city.
02
How do drivers get paid?
Riders pay the driver directly: card in-app, cash in the car, or the driver's own card terminal. The fare clears to the driver's Stripe account. FairTaxi never touches ride money.
03
What is the €60/mo subscription?
FairTaxi takes 0% commission. Drivers pay one flat platform fee instead: €8 for a day pass, €15 for two days, or €60 a month. That subscription is the only charge FairTaxi makes to a driver; there is no per-ride charge and no technology fee.
04
Is the fare fixed?
The fare shown is an estimate based on standard metered pricing. The final fare is what the driver's taxi meter reads when you arrive, the same as a hailed taxi.
05
Are drivers checked?
Yes. Before a driver takes their first ride we check their PSV driver licence and their vehicle’s SPSV licence by hand against the NTA public register, and a person, not an automated check, approves the PSV driver-licence and insurance documents. After that the recorded expiry dates are enforced: when a PSV driver licence, an SPSV vehicle licence, an insurance certificate or motor tax lapses, the driver stops getting jobs until it is renewed. No approval, no rides.
06
Who handles customer support?
An instant in-app assistant answers the common questions right away, backed by a real support team based here in Dublin, not an overseas call centre. Both drivers and riders are looked after, in-app and in writing.
07
Who owns FairTaxi, and who built the app?
FairTaxi is a trading name of Upstart Forge Limited, an Irish company registered in Dublin, CRO 817002. No foreign parent, no overseas head office. The rider app, the driver app and the dispatch behind them were designed and built here in Ireland: our own software, not a white-label platform rebadged with an Irish name.
